Enriching our Community
There is a power in our togetherness. We were made for community. Even God recognized, "It is not good for man to be alone." (Gn 2:18) So an important part about being church is enriching our community spirit so that we may be more reflective of the Trinitarian nature of our God, a unity of diversity.
Calendar Check out our calendar of events and consider getting involved. It is not that you need to participate, but that we need your presence. God created only one you and so your presence and participation helps us to be more church, more community.
St. Lawrence-Newman Center is not yet another service provider that you pay to get some benefit. If you're a member, you are St. Lawrence-Newman Center. We stand and thrive or fall and fail based on all who make up our church community. By virtue of our baptismal vocation, we are called to be church, to recognize and be one of the pillars that make church, Christ's body, present to the world. This is done not by having a consumer attitude, but having an ownership attitude. You are St. Lawrence-Newman. Consider helping to be the church we are called to be by being involved and holding up your share of the church's mission.
Groups help enhance our community and provide ways for folks to get to know one another on a deeper level.
Volunteer Opportunities: Here are some ways you can help us enrich our community.
Next year, our parish will be celebrating her 125th anniversary. We have a committee busy planning some wonderful things to help us celebrate the blessings God has showered upon St. Lawrence-Newman Center for 125 years. Please keep a look out for 125th anniversary events. They will be a lot of fun and help us rejoice in our past, renewed in our present, and reveal our future.
