Spiritual Formation
St. Lawrence-Newman provides a variety of classes, workshops, and events to help us grow in our faith. Some arise based on the needs of the time and some are part of our standard fare.
Journey of Faith: Meets once a semester, Monday nights for 3 nights from 6-8 p.m. in the Gathering Space (includes a light supper). Enrich your understanding and appreciation of the Roman Catholic faith in 3 sessions through presentation, discussion, and prayer. Non-Catholics interested in learning about Catholicism are most welcome. Presented by Fr. Bob O'Donnell, CSP (rodonnell@umncatholic.org or 612.331.7941)
Bible Study: Meets on Mondays to explore the Sunday readings.
Marriage Workshops: With Minnesota preparing for the vote on the Marriage Amendment, we Catholics have always believed in the sacredness and sanctity of marriage. In fact it is one of our seven sacraments. Because of the importance of marriage to faith and to society, we Catholics cannot leave discussion to the civic realm, but need to be part of the conversation. So in response, we will be having a series of workshops focus on helping us understand better and living out more fully this wonderful gift of union from God.
